Hi, everyone! Welcome to the 1st NA Crush Tourney hosted here at NA Alley! We are a version of The YA Sisterhood’s Annual YA Crush Tourney, and we would like to thank them for allowing us to host our own version of the tournament to celebration new adult book heroes!
Be aware there maybe spoilers in some of the advocate posts that support the new adult heroes. We’ve allowed the advocates to use excepts from their assigned NA Crushes’ books as well as other teasers, so just be mindful of that when you read the posts.
Matches will run for 24 hours, 12 a.m. to 12 a.m. EST every Tuesday and Thursday. Voting will only take place here on NA Alley, and the polls don’t allow multiple votes.
About Me: Hey, guys! I'm Hannah, from The Irish Banana Review. We may have met. We may not have met. You might be wondering who the heck I am, but I doesn't matter who I am, it matters who my guy is:
Meet Kayden Owens:
You might have met Kayden a few months ago in Jessica Sorensen's hit The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden. If you haven't, then my heart breaks for you.
Loveavble, loyal, and devastatingly gorgeous, Kayden is one of those guys people naturally gravitate to. Girls love him for his dark hair and stunning green eyes, and that protective streak that's a mile wide and just as deep. Guys love him because he's a freaking all-star quarterback and just one of the boys. This is the guy that defines perfection.
Clearly you will need visual assistance (or maybe I just like giving it because it's fun):
(model/actor lookalike: Chace Crawford)
The strong and silent type, he's been through hell and literally has the scars to prove it, but he never let it jade him. He's kept a sense of humor and it's brought him closer to the love of this life, Callie.
Upon finding out about Callie's own tortured past, Kayden immediately accepted her, never making her feel guilty or at fault for what happened. He deals with his own tragic past while being a major pillar of support to Callie.
While the end of The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden proved troublesome for our boy, I'm confident he's going to come out on top.
Because he's Kayden Owens.Hey! I'm Hannah from In the Best Worlds. I've read a lot of books with some really great guys who know how to make a girl swoon - but the ones I really fall for are the ones who can get my heart beating faster, who can make me grin, and give me that giddy feeling of falling for someone new. Which is why I'm so excited to be advocating for Garrick from Losing It by Cora Carmack.
If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Garrick yet, or if you need reminding of all the ways he's incredibly perfect, then let me tell you why this man is the best in NA.
First, here's what these girls think about Garrick and Losing It!
But let's get down to details.
How Sexy is Garrick?
Let's be straight - this guy is smoking. He's the kind of guy that will catch your attention because he's hot, but he's just completely genuine.
*But let me talk about those looks for a minute.
"His eyes were ocean water blue, and without the scruff he looked younger, less rugged sexy and more boy-next-door hotness."
Really, how do you not love a dude who can pull off rugged sexy and boy-next-door?
*Have I mentioned he's hot?
"I don't know how much longer I can handle this. One day I'm going to spontaneously sexually combust and jump him in the middle of class."
*He's pretty much the whole package...
"This was dangerous territory. There were things rearing up inside me, things beyond attraction, beyond an obsession with his looks and his body and his accent - dangerous things."
*Although, it's all in his smile.
"I took another look at him. He was grinning now - white teeth, jaw stubble that made him look downright delectable. Yup, I was definitely seducible."
"...he was smiling! And his smile did funny things to my insides that had me thinking about last night."
*We all know his smile is important because those lips do two very important things -
"He leaned back in and kissed me again, humming as he pressed his lips against mine....his mouth finally opened, and I tasted sweet and mint and his breath mixed with mine. His tongue slid against mine, and my hand beneath his shirt came back to life, curling around his side, pulling closer until my pelvis pressed into his hip. The kiss was leisurely and divine, but too slow, slow, slow."
Because....OH YEAH, HE HAS A BRITISH ACCENT.
"'What's your name, love?' LOVE! Still dying."
I'm just going to say this one more time.
HE HAS A BRITISH ACCENT.
But just how awesome is Garrick?
*He read Shakespeare in a bar (once) and is very convincing in demonstrating the value of passion over reason.
"I like the juxtaposition of reason and passion."
"I'm a fan of passion myself."
*He is a gentleman.
"He stood and offered me his arm. 'My lady?'"
*But he drives a motorcycle.
*And he's the professor, so he's a little bit off-limits. (But seriously, how hot is it to make out behind stage curtains when you're not supposed to?)
*He can dance.
"His body against mine seemed to magnify the already heated room, and I felt sweat begin to dampen my neck. His hips kept rolling to the music, slowly and sensually, but every once and a while on a strong beat his hips would push harder against mine. His lips touched the skin of my neck, and I was falling, falling, falling into the feeling.
*He'll take care of you when you're sick.
"We passed days in this manner, wrapped up in each other, in and out of sleep, eating and showering when we felt like we could. It was strange to think of sickness as an oasis, but that's what it was.
*Hamlet, the meanest cat on the planet, can't even withstand his charm.
"I was still stuck on the fact that my cat was perched happily on his chest...purring. He had magic powers. That was the only answer."
Why should you vote for Garrick?
Pretty simply - he's sexy, funny, sweet, and caring. He'll make your heart pound, he can make you grin like an idiot, and if anyone is swoon-worthy, it's Garrick.
He's won over a lot of hearts and I'm pretty confident he'll win yours over as well (if he hasn't already).
Plus, it might make Hamlet a little cranky if you don't vote for Garrick - and you do not want to be on Hamlet's bad side.
