We talk books here on NA Alley a lot. Rightfully so. But you know what? Like eighty percent of the movies out there are based on books. Published or unpublished, doesn’t matter.

Now, I can’t site a source for that, but it’s what I’ve heard “around the water cooler.” And when I went to google it, only found THIS.

But really, it doesn’t matter, because we’re just going chat movies today!!

I LOVE movies. Not as much as I love writing, but a very close second.

And for my NA movie favorite, I have to say Legally Blonde. Have you guys seen it?  Check out this trailer:

Another one mentioned on The Alley while chatting up this topic was Pitch Perfect:

Or, The Devil Wears Prada...how 'bout that one?

Oh, and Monster's University! Just released last weekend. Who said animated movies can't be NA? :)

So...tell me:

What are some of your favorite New Adult movies?

What are some New Adult books you’d like to see on the big screen?

What’s the best NA book to movie out there?

OH...but we can't forget the actors out there.

Who would be your favorite twenty-something actor to play the hero in your favorite NA book if it were put to the big screen?

PS:  The NA Crush Tourney matches start tomorrow. It's going to be wicked-awesome. Deets are HERE.

  1. Love this post Lynn! I adore Legally Blonde, and now that I see it as NA... I feel even more of a special kinship with Elle Woods. Bend and snap!

I'd totally pick Jennifer Lawrence to play Kristia in my NA, Elsker. She's all kinds of fabulous. My Ull isn't in his twenties, but he's just so dreamy I can't pick anyone but Alexander Skarsgard. ;)

And my cutie-pie isn't competing until next week, but I'm super excited to come out and vote for my crushes tomorrow. The NA Crush Tourney is SO MUCH FUN!!!

  3. Love this post. Have you ever seen The Prince and Me? I'd put it up there as one of my favorite NA movies. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337697/

  4. Garden State although the characters are over 25, considering where they are in life makes them pretty 'new adult' in my opinion. The movie version of Warm Bodies is also more NA than YA.

There was this really cool TV series in the late 90s called Wateland - quintessential New Adult: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasteland_(TV_series) Wish they'd make more series like that!
