Today's featured author for New Adult Stars week (to see the Jennifer Echols, Monica Murphy, Abbi Glines, and Allison Rushby interviews scroll down :D) is a huge support of the new adult category. She's multi-published through the amazing independent publisher Crescent Moon Press (they accept NA manuscripts ;D), and has stopped by today to discuss her love for NA!

Lynn has also graciously offered an ARC of her newest novel Violet Dawn down below so don't forget to enter!

Now, for the guest post. Take it away, Lynn!

Lynn Rush:

Lynn :-)
I’m often asked how I got into writing New Adult paranormal romance novels. Honestly, the category kind of found me, much like writing found me. I hadn’t planned on being a writer, but when I jumped into that arena, I wrote what I loved: Paranormal, Light vs Dark, and seriously kick butt heroines.

At first, I was told by industry colleagues and professionals my characters were too old for Young Adult but they were too young for Adult. They told me if I hoped for publication I needed to revise my characters.

Sure, I considered it, but in the end, I stuck with what I loved to write. And then Crescent Moon Press signed me, taking a chance on a new and upcoming category. And with six books!

I’m so very proud to be their flagship author, and I really enjoy watching everyone, agents and publishers alike, embrace the New Adult category.

I absolutely love writing romance. Love is awesome. The rush of that first glance across the room. That first kiss. You get the picture. And for me, I fit right into the New Adult category when it came to romance. I found the YA romances too sweet, and the adult romances a bit too hot for my liking. So, I decided to step into the “in between.” A way to view how I write my love stories is that I keep the bedroom door partially open. I like to let the reader take the story wherever they like. That’s part of the fun, right?

I’m just so glad to be a part of the New Adult community, and I’m so happy it’s being received so well. Thanks for having me visit NA Alley. You guys are rocking it for sure!

Thanks for stopping by Lynn!

About the Author:

Rush holds a degree in psychology from Southwest Minnesota State University and a master's degree from the University of Iowa.
