Welcome back!  I want to thank everyone who has come to visit, followed our blog, joined our giveaway, and/or spread the word!

May I ask something about you?

It's Wednesday of Blog Me, MAYbe, which means that today we ask our readers questions, and I have a question I've been waiting to ask of you!

What are some of your favorite New Adult reads?

Generally speaking, these would be with  college-age protagonists, roughly 18-25ish (or even slightly older), but it's not just about age.  I've read stories with characters who were supposed to be 22-years-old, but they "sounded" and acted older than I do (and I'm 34 - hey, a young 34, but still!).  These protagonists already had established careers, had their lives together, were secure in who they were, and weren't dealing with what most twenty-somethings typically deal with.  What it boils down to is that the voice just didn't strike me as genuine or authentic, and we all know how important voice is in a story.  So, I wanna know, what new adult stories have you read that had authentic or genuine voice to you that you would recommend we read?

I've started a list of visitor's recommendations on the NA Recommended Reads page, because we really want this to be a whole community effort, and we're always hungry for new NA reads -  and I'm sure many of your are, too.

Here's the list we have so far:

  1. Beautiful Disaster, Flat Out Love, Slammed & Hushed are not only some of my fav. NA books, but some of my all-time-fav's, period! Loving this site! :)

And at the risk of this sounding like shameless self promotion, myself and Jolene Perry have a NA release this week called My Heart for Yours. :)

  3. Greetings ladies. I found you through Alex J. Cavanugh.

I write fantasy books. In my epic my character is 21 and at University. This is an e-book. I'd be willing to give you all a free copy and would love it if you add me to your list. I've already grabbed your button. I also have a children's line.
    N. R. Williams or just Nancy

  4. You're the same age as my sister, Jaycee. It makes being NA sisters feel all the more natural! ;)

  5. Found your site through Alex. Back when it was published, there was no New Adult genre, so my series was classified as YA. But most of the main characters are college aged, so it fits NA.

Very happy to find this site!

  6. Um, would it be horrible if I recommended Three Daves by me? I just, you know, really like it, and staying true to the age & experience of the characters was very important to me, so...

BTW, I'm so happy Alex J. tipped me off on your brand new site! I look forward to learning lots of good stuff here, seeing as I never even heard of New Adult until my book had been out for a year, d'oh!
